About GyneConcepts

Changing the Future of Women's Health, One Screening at a Time

At GyneConcepts, we believe every woman deserves access to healthcare that is convenient, affordable, accessible, and comfortable.

For more than three decades, our mission has remained unchanged: To remove barriers that prevent women from receiving the preventive healthcare they need.

That mission led to the development of the Personal Pap Smear™ (PPS)—the world's first patented cervical cell collection device designed to give women a more private and convenient way to participate in cervical health screening. But our story begins long before the PPS. It begins with a simple question.

Why Are Women Still Missing Cervical Cancer Screenings?

For more than 60 years, the Pap smear has helped save millions of lives. It remains one of the most effective tools ever developed for detecting abnormal cervical cells before they become cancerous.

Yet despite its success, hundreds of thousands of women around the world continue to be diagnosed with cervical cancer every year. Many of these cases occur because women never received routine screening.

At GyneConcepts, we wanted to understand why. The answers were remarkably consistent. Women told us:

"It's uncomfortable."

"It's embarrassing."

"It's inconvenient."

"I can't afford it."

"I feel fine."

Others faced barriers related to transportation, scheduling, privacy, cultural beliefs, or limited access to healthcare services.

A Mission Driven by Women's Real Experiences

GyneConcepts was founded on the belief that preventive healthcare should adapt to women's lives—not force women to adapt their lives around healthcare.

Every woman deserves options that respect her schedule, privacy, comfort, and personal circumstances. That belief continues to guide every decision we make.

Our work is centered around one simple goal:

Helping more women benefit from the power of early detection.

When Barriers are Removed, Participation Increases.

When Participation Increases, Lives can be Saved.

2008

Meet the Personal Pap Smear™ (PPS)

The Personal Pap Smear™ represents years of research, innovation, and commitment to addressing one of the biggest challenges in women's healthcare: screening participation.

The PPS is the world's first patented cervical cell collection device designed for self-administration. Women can use the PPS in the privacy of their own home or within a healthcare setting, creating a more flexible and patient-centered experience.

Unlike many self-sampling methods that collect vaginal cells primarily for HPV testing, the PPS is specifically designed to collect cervical cells. These cervical cell samples may be analyzed for: Cervical Cancer, Malignant Cells, Cervical Dysplasia, Yeast Infections, Human papillomavirus (HPV), Chlamydia and HSV ( Herpes Simplex Virus)

By focusing on cervical cell collection while prioritizing convenience and comfort, the PPS reflects our commitment to improving access to preventive care.

Female-Led. Purpose-Driven.

GyneConcepts is proud to be a female-led company. We understand that healthcare decisions are deeply personal and that women often face unique challenges when it comes to preventive care.

Our mission extends beyond technology. We are committed to creating solutions that help women feel more confident, more empowered, and more in control of their health. Everything we do is guided by a simple belief: Women deserve healthcare experiences designed with women in mind.
