Our Strategy:
Women currently represent approximately 51% of the U.S. population, and they spend approximately 66% of every healthcare dollar and make 3 out of 4 household healthcare-related decisions. We believe that the healthcare sector has begun to recognize women's health as a distinct and focused industry segment. We, therefore, are strategically positioning ourselves to benefit from what we believe is a major long-term economic trend favoring providers of women's health products.
Our primary objective is to make medical testing and treatment more convenient, affordable, available and psychologically comfortable for women. We believe our products will encourage women to take more personal responsibility for their health care by encouraging them to take an active role, along with their physicians, in monitoring and improving their health. We intend to provide women with tools that will facilitate earlier and more effective medical testing, resulting in earlier, more effective and less costly medical intervention -- a win-win-win situation for women, their physicians and their insurance providers.
We believe the healthcare industry is becoming more consumer-directed, particularly in the field of diagnostic testing. Accordingly, we believe that we must be operationally flexible so we can respond quickly and effectively to changes in consumer market demand. We plan to achieve operational flexibility and leverage our resources through alliances, agreements and other relationships of varying duration, with institutions and organizations possessing specific expertise and favorable economies of scope and/or scale.
